Enistic with the Newman Holiday Trust

At Enistic we are proud to support our community. This year we have made a donation to The Newman Holiday Trust, an amazing charity provides holidays for over 120 children with disabilities and special needs aged 4-16 each year, in various locations around the United Kingdom.

The Newman Holiday Trust is an entirely voluntary organisation and owes its success to over 200 people who dedicate their free time to helping these children. This voluntary structure ensures that every penny raised goes directly towards a child’s holiday.

Due to the high level of skilled care they require or financial circumstances, the children selected for these breaks would not otherwise receive a holiday. The holidays provide a range of fun activities in a safe and supported environment and use a care ratio of one helper to one child at all times.

At Enistic, we have donated £1,200 as a company and we encourage all our staff to make personal donations. You can also help the Trust by making a donation. With only £5 they can buy a child’s gift, with £50 they can take a group of 25 children to go horse riding, with £300 they can provide a week-long holiday for one child, and with £10,000 they can provide a whole holiday.

Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR) is a piece of legislation from the UK Government which replaced the Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC).

The Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) was introduced by the UK Government to promote energy efficiency and to ensure large enterprises are regularly assessing their energy usage.

The Procurement Policy Note (PPN 06/21) sets out how government departments need to take account of suppliers’ Net Zero Carbon Reduction Plans in the procurement of major government contracts.

Science-based targets (SBT) are targets that help companies define their journey to reduce carbon emissions, helping prevent the worst impacts of climate change and future-proof business growth.

The Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) was developed to create consistent climate-related financial risk disclosures for use by organisations in providing information.

Net Zero is achieving a neutral carbon footprint. In other words, it refers to having net-zero carbon dioxide emissions by balancing emissions against carbon reduction and offsetting strategies.
