5 Practical Ways to Reduce Energy Consumption for Schools

With the ESOS Phase 2 data capture period beginning in January 2018, it’s timefor schools to start thinking about ESOS.
HVAC systems, lighting, ICT and the catering equipment usually account for the bulk of a school energy consumption. With the ever rising energy bill and the concerns about climate change, the cost associated with all of these can be easily reduced, if the business knows where to look at and what to do.
1. Lighting

Install occupancy sensors and timers. These sensors can help reduce the lighting cost by up to 30%.
2. Catering
Labelling kitchen equipment with their required preheating time can help the staff switching them on only when needed, thus helping to reduce the energy used by cooking by up to 60%.
3. Heating
