Cut 8% off your energy bill. ESOS shows you how.
The questions are getting harder. Customers, suppliers, your board — everyone wants to know what you’re doing about energy and carbon.
ESOS gives you the data to answer them. And for Enistic’s manufacturing clients, it’s delivered an average 8% reduction in energy costs, enough to cover ESOS costs and then some.
100% guaranteed compliance
At Enistic, we have produced over 4,000 reports since 2002 and our clients have never failed compliance. That’s why we guarantee compliance for ESOS and ESOS Action Plans (EAPs).

Why It Matters Beyond Compliance
Supply Chain Demands
Supply chain customers are increasingly requiring product carbon data. ESOS gives you the foundation to start building it.
Contract Requirements
Public sector contracts require a PPN 006-compliant Carbon Reduction Plan. ESOS and CRP go hand in hand.
Investor Scrutiny
Investors and boards want credible net zero commitments. Scope 1 to 3 data, collected properly, gives them something to stand behind.
Real Cost Savings
A thorough energy audit identifies real cost savings, not just compliance outputs. Our clients regularly find savings that cover the cost of the programme.
Why choose Enistic
We combine AI-enabled software with real expertise to help organisations cut through the complexity of carbon reporting and sustainability planning. With Enistic, you get more than just a platform, you get a partner. We’re trusted by over 300 businesses to deliver accurate data, clear insights, and tailored support that makes a real difference. Whether you’re aiming for compliance, Net Zero, or better stakeholder engagement, we’re here to help you get there without the jargon, and without the hassle.

Measure
Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and are the reference point against which emission reductions can be measured.
Aims and targets
Targets allow you to judge whether the plans you made to reduce your carbon emissions are working, and whether the reductions achieved are meaningful.

Reduce
Select best carbon reduction projects for you and your business, based on your values, the cost, and likely payback time.

Track
Track your carbon emissions to reflect the changes and compare how well you are doing against the targets.

Offset
Offset schemes work by paying volunteers, companies or charities to do things which ‘negate’ your carbon emissions, for example, planting trees.

Certify
Certification is a valuable process that provides checks and balances for the sector.
Not sure if this is right for you?
ESOS applies to UK organisations with 250 or more employees, or an annual turnover above £44 million and a balance sheet above £38 million. If that sounds like you, Phase 4 compliance is mandatory, and the deadline is December 2027.
This is right for you if:
- You completed ESOS Phase 3 and want Phase 4 done properly, without stress or last-minute panic.
- Your board or investors are asking questions about net zero targets credibility.
- You’d benefit from an energy audit that actually identifies savings, not just check box
- You’re facing supply chain pressure for product carbon data or Scope 3 disclosures.
- You want SECR, ESOS, and carbon reporting handled in one place, not across three consultancies.
- You need certainty on compliance, not a best-effort promiset certain?
Still unsure? We’ll confirm your eligibility in 15 minutes, for free.
ESOS Action Plans
Companies are now legally obliged to publish an energy improvement plan, stating their plans on how to implement those. This plan must be submitted annually, with publicly progress reports.

The deadline for ESOS Phase 4 compliance is 5th December 2027.
What happens if I don't comply with ESOS?
If you don’t comply with ESOS you will be at risk of being fined. You will be charged a fixed penalty of £5,000 plus an additional £500 per day until you submit your ESOS report. As ESOS is a public report, not complying with it could also damage your reputation.
Will ESOS Phase 4 include more information?
It is expected that you will need to include more information about your carbon emissions on ESOS Phase 4 (e.g. a wider analysis of your Carbon Footprint, a Carbon Reduction Plan, and Net Zero assessments).
Do I need an ESOS Lead Assessor?
Yes, to legally comply with ESOS you need a qualified ESOS Lead Assessor to sign your report.
What happens if I don't have all the data for ESOS?
It can be complicated to get all the data required for ESOS, but it is a legal requirement that you get it. Here’re some things you can try:
- Checking with finance teams for invoices.
- Contacting the utility provider for usage details or online portal access.
- Requesting an FTP data download if necessary.
