How to choose your ESOS Assessor

March 31, 2017

DON’T LEAVE CHOOSING ONE TOO LATE

There are fewer than 500 lead assessors available for the 10,000 plus organisations which need to comply with ESOS. As the year moves on there will be real pressure on supply and the longer you leave it, the harder it will be to find an assessor to work with you due to their work commitments.

ENSURE YOU CHOOSE A QUALIFIED ESOS LEAD ASSESSOR

Lead Assessors must be qualified by one of the 15 Professional bodies. Enistic have several qualified ESOS assessors who are a key part of our Easy ESOS service which is currently taking organisations through compliance.

GET THEM INVOLVED FROM THE START

It’s crucial to start on the right path to compliance. Speaking with one of our ESOS assessors from the start of the project will ensure a clear route to compliance is mapped out, ensuring that your organisation meets the legislation requirements and nothing is left out.

The Lead Assessor will act as your project manager, ensuring at least 90% of total energy consumption is identified, sufficient energy audits are carried out, energy savings opportunities are sufficient including ROI & LCCA and finally review and sign off the ESOS evidence pack.

ENSURE THEY HAVE SUPPORT

Since the ESOS legislation was announced, hundreds of companies have announced they provide ESOS compliance. It’s crucial to ensure the ESOS assessor and company you choose has the resource available to oversee and undertake the work required.

At Enistic, we have several ESOS qualified assessors, dedicated project managers, energy auditors, market leading software, consultants and support staff so you can rest assured we can take you through ESOS compliance in an effective manner.

CHOOSE ONE WHO GUARANTEES COMPLIANCE

Entrusting your ESOS compliance with an ESOS assessor and company is no mean feat with the heavy fines and public disclosure for non-compliance. Therefore it’s important you choose an assessor that guarantees compliance as part of their contract.

Our Easy ESOS scheme offers you an all-in-one service to guaranteed ESOS compliance.

Starting with an free, no obligation scoping meeting we will:

1 Conduct an ESOS Assessment

2. Conduct Energy Audits

SECR Software vs Carbon Accounting for UK PLCs

Most UK PLCs do not have a SECR problem. They have a data problem that shows up once a year in the annual report. Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR) sets the legal minimum for quoted companies: global Scope 1 and 2 emissions, energy use, an intensity ratio...

Who Can Help With CSRD Compliance in the UK

The EU's Omnibus I package has cut the number of companies caught by the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) by roughly 90%. For UK businesses, that has turned the question around. It is no longer "how do we comply?" but "do we need to, and if so, who...

How to Build a Supplier PCF Data Survey in 2026

Most supplier data surveys fail in a predictable way. You send a request to four hundred suppliers. Ninety reply. Of those ninety, a third send a corporate emissions figure instead of a product one. Several attach an environmental product declaration for a similar but...

SECR Software vs Carbon Accounting Platforms: Which Should UK Manufacturers Choose?

Blues Go Green: Measuring the Carbon Footprint of a Birmingham City Matchday

ESOS Phase 4 Costs and Deadlines in the UK for 2026

Most organisations think of ESOS as just an audit, a signature, or a notification, often filed and forgotten for four years. The ones getting value from it treat the audit as the input to something else. Phase 4 asks you to identify cost effective energy savings...

How to Measure Supply Chain Emissions for CSRD

Measuring your supply chain emissions and producing a CSRD ready disclosure are two different jobs, and the second one is where most programmes stall. A number in a spreadsheet is not a disclosure. Under CSRD you have to justify why you reported that category at all,...

What Is Scope 3 Emissions Measurement in 2026

Scope 1 and Scope 2 are, by comparison, easy. You own the boilers. You pay the electricity bills. The data exists somewhere in your organisation and someone can go and find it. Scope 3 is different, because it sits almost entirely in other people's businesses. Your...
